Breaking news: Edwin van der Sar reacts to Manchester United appointing Erik ten Hag as new manager

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag was lured

away by "one of the biggest clubs in the

world," according to Edwin van der Sar.

Ten Hag has been appointed as the new

manager of Manchester United on a

three-year contract with a one-year extension

option, and he will begin his duties at

Old Trafford this summer.

The 52-year-old has spent the last four

and a half seasons at Ajax, where he

is on track to win his third league title

this season, despite their dreams of completing

a double being dashed in Sunday's cup

final against PSV Eindhoven.

When the 2019/20 season was cut short

because to the pandemic, Ajax was joint

top of the league, and Ten Hag has returned

the team to its former glory.
