 According to sources, Manchester United

 is prepared to offer Ronald Araujo, one 

of their top defensive targets, double what

 he was promised by current club Barcelona

 to sign this summer. 



According to various sources, United 

has been leading the race to sign Araujo

 over the past few weeks. 


Barcelona's contract negotiations with the 

centre back haven't gone as planned, and

 it's looking increasingly doubtful that he'll

 sign a new deal. 


According to MARCA, United were not 

the only team interested in recruiting the 

22-year-old, with Real Madrid, Manchester 

City, and Chelsea also interested in signing him. 


According to a tweet from El Chiringuito 

TV, a Spanish football page, United has 

given more than double what they were asking for.
