Confirmed : Erik ten Hag told he has the perfect 'leader' waiting for him in the Manchester United defence, name of player stated in details ,as Maguire snubbed .

 Mikael Silvestre, a former Manchester

 United defender, believes Raphael

Varane will be the "leader" of United's

defense under Erik ten Hag next season.

Varane, who will attempt to help France

defend their World Cup title later this

year, joined United from Real Madrid in

a big-money transfer last summer as

the Old Trafford club looked to bolster

their central-defensive options. Harry

Maguire had been hunting for a world-

class companion, and he had found him.

Varane, on the other hand, has struggled

to make an impact this season as a result

of United's collective failures and recurrent

injury woes. This season, he has only made

19 Premier League matches and 26 in

all competitions, illustrating how frequently

 he has been unavailable.
