March 31, 2022
Manchester United will entertain Leicester
City at Old Trafford this Saturday evening
as they hope to secure a victory in front
of their home fans. The Red Devils suffered
a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Atletico
Madrid which knocked them out of the
UEFA Champions League before the
international break. Hence, they will
be eager to respond in a positive fashion
versus the Foxes this weekend.
Ralf Ragnick could set his team up in
a 4-2-3-1 formation and will one change
to his starting XI for this game. Paul Pogba
could get the nod to start in midfield
while Fred has to settle for a place
on the bench.
Defence
David de Gea will feature in goal for
the Red Devils after conceding one
goal in his last appearance. Harry
Maguire will function along with Raphael
Varane in central defence as they
hoped to keep things tidy on the
defensive end of the field.
Diogo Dalot will try to give a good
account of himself as the right-back
while Alex Telles looks to catch the eye
as the left-back. Both of them will
be given the freedom to express themselves
in the Leicester half so that they can
offer enough support to the front players.
Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly will
have to settle for a place on the bench
as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba
will anchor the midfield for Man United
as they focus on dominating the game
at the centre of the park.
Anthony Elanga could get a chance to
impress as the left-sided wide player
while Jadon Sancho hopes to produce
a good display from the right.
Bruno Fernandes will operate in the
number ten position and might have to
carry most of the creative workload for
his team in the final third.
Fred, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard
will be named on the bench as they
wait for their chance to shine in the
second half if required.
Attack
Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line for the
Red Devils up top. The Portuguese superstar
needs to find a way to cause a few problems
for the Leicester defenders during the
90 minutes.
Edinson Cavani is recovering from
a calf injury and might not be risked
in this game at home.
