Man United close keen on agreeing deal for 6ft 5in tall defender from Premier League rivals .

Manchester United is keeping an eye on

Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite ahead

of a summer approach, according to the

Daily Mail.

Erik ten Hag has agreed to become the

Red Devils' new manager on a verbal basis.

In due time, a formal announcement is

planned.

The Dutchman will not officially take

over as manager of the Red Devils until July

1, but the club is already planning for the

summer transfer window.

Branthwaite is now being monitored,

according to reports. United are thought to

be interested in the player's aerial presence (

6ft 5in), as they look to add more toughness

 to their back line.

Branthwaite joined the Merseyside squad

from Carlisle two years ago, but has only

made 11 appearances for them in all competitions

 since then.
