 Mason Greenwood's future 

is still unclear, irrespective of 

his footballing career, there is 

still a serious criminal case 

hanging over his head, yet the 

Greater Manchester Police 

have applied to the courts to 

extend his bail period.

Greenwood has been out of 

Manchester United's first-team

 activities since January 30 when 

the forward was the subject of 

a complaint made by his girlfriend, 

alongside purported video evidence

 and social media pictures of 

him abusing her, as well as 

committing sexual crimes against her.

In a report published by The 

Sun, it has been confirmed that 

the police have been successful 

in their appeal to delay the trial,

 as they continue to gather 

evidence and investigate 

the situation.

Greenwood had initially been set

 to appear in court before May 

of 2022, yet this latest delay 

will now see his hearing put 

back until June.

"We are continuing to investigate 

a report made to us on Sunday 

30 January of online social media

 images and videos posted by 

a woman reporting incidents 

of physical violence," a police 

statement read.

"A 20-year-old man arrested that

 day on suspicion of the 

rape and assault of a woman, 

and threats to kill, remains on bail."
