Man United is close to agreeing to 

a £20.5 million per year contract to 

sign De Jong this summer, according

 to an exclusive story published by 

The Daily Star Sunday (press 

image below). 


The Red Devils are having trouble 

signing quality players, according 

to a British news outlet, because they

 will not be competing in the Champions

 League next season. 


United is willing to offer De Jong 

the highest-paid player available 

to the Catalan giants in order to entice

 him to join the Old Trafford club. 

Man United is thought to be willing

 to pay him £395,000 (£20.5 million) 

a week.
