Confirmed : How Manchester United could line-up v Crystal Palace with 10 changes as ten hag reveals his reserve and starting 11 as he will take charge of Palace game on behalf of Ralf Ragnick who is out due to this reason .
Manchester United mercifully only
have one game of the season remaining
. This takes place in a fortnight’s time
against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
It is quite possible, and probable, that
many of the Manchester United players
who started against Brightonhave
played their last game for the club
this season. Perhaps ever.
For the match against Palace, United
could line-up with 10 changes. We
are not going for the full 11, because
Cristiano Ronaldo probably does deserve
to keep his place, we don’t 100 per
cent know if he will be here next season
, and Edinson Cavani will likely have
picked up another injury by then anyway.
But all the other starters; David de Gea,
Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Victor
Lindelof, Alex Telles, Scott McTominay
, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Bruno
Fernandes, Anthony Elanga; they should
sit the next game out.
Manchester United could line-up
with 10 changes against Crystal Palace
. There is a fine line to tread, as United
do not want another humiliation, and
may require a result to avoid dropping
into the Europa Conference League.
United also have to bear in mind whether
it would be wise for the young players
to be involved. A picture of Alvaro
Fernandez feeling sad at full-time against
Brighton, a match he did not even play
in, and Anthony Elanga’s woeful showing
against the Seagulls, suggests that
United have to consider the decision
carefully.
Ultimately we would err on the side
of ‘give them a chance’. This is the
last game of the season, a fortnight will
have passed between the Brighton
game, and as stated, those players
may simply not deserve to start the final
game.
Almost all change: This match would
be an opportunity for Dean Henderson
to start his first Premier League game
of the season, replacing David de Gea.
The Spaniard looks like he needs a break
, and should be sent on his holidays early.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka would come back in
at right-back, against his former club
. BBC Sport report Palace are considering
re-signing him, and this would put
him in the shop window.
Harry Maguire would also return in central
defence, alongside Phil Jones, who
could make his last start for the club.
Eric Bailly is currently out injured.
Alvaro Fernandez should come in at
left-back. The teenager has nine assists
for the under-23s and will be on the
bench anyway, with Luke Shaw out.
We have seen enough of Alex Telles.
In midfield, Fred would return as
a starter, partnered by Hannibal. The
pair would be an interesting combination
, and in front of them, Jesse Lingard
would start his final game for the club.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho
would feature in attack, with the latter
starting his first ever game for the club
, in support of Cristiano Ronaldo up front.
If United did want to leave Ronaldo out
, it’s workable if Jadon Sancho returns
from illness, with Marcus Rashford
leaving the line. A strong FA Youth
Cup showing from Charlie McNeill
may even throw him into the mix too.
