Confirmed: Two Manchester United players tell teammates they plan to leave,as the reveal in training.
In the midst of Manchester United's
efforts to sign a new centre-back, Eric
Bailly and Phil Jones have stated their
decision to leave the club to teammates.
Bailly, 27, has only started five games this
season and was so frustrated by his lack
of opportunities that he openly questioned
why failing teammates like Harry
Maguire were still starting.
Bailly made his discontent with Maguire's
perks apparent last month when he applauded
the United captain's prospective demotion
at Arsenal with an Instagram comment.
Maguire was benched, but Victor Lindelof
kept his starting spot next to Raphael Varane.
When his previous contract expired this
year, United privately admitted that Bailly's
three-year contract renewal last year was
a mistake. According to sources, it was
a continuation of Ed Woodward's investigation.
