Manchester United captain Harry  Maguire will be retained at least until  the end of the season.  Maguire's dismal record this season  has raised doubts about whether he should  continue to lead United, especially with  Cristiano Ronaldo's return.  When Ashley Young left for Inter Milan  in January 2020, Maguire was promoted  to the role just five months into his Old  Trafford career. Ronaldo captains Portugal  and first wore the armband for United  at the age of 23 in 2008.  Ralf Rangnick said five weeks ago that he  would not reassign the captaincy, but  Maguire's position was called into question  again in midweek after rumors of a  meeting between Maguire, Ronaldo,  and Rangnick surfaced.  "First and foremost, I must state that  this is complete rubbish," Rangnick stated.

Manchester United are expected  to offer Marcus Rashford a new  contract, but he should leave  while he still can. Despite the World Cup being held  in Qatar, which has been marred  by allegations of bribes, slave deaths,  and boycott threats, it is a tournament  that England footballers cannot  afford to miss. He  has been a near-constant in Gareth  Southgate's squad for nearly five years but was  left out of the most recent round of  internationals. Time for Marcus Rashford  to leave his comfort zone There have

Manchester United forward Edinson  Cavani has received some 'bad news,'  according to Fabrizio Romano.  Cavani's season in 2021/22 was a  disaster, with the striker missing big  chunks of the season owing to quarantine  troubles, bruises, tendon irritation,  and, most recently, a groin ailment.  Following the new concern, Manchester  United has stated that the striker is now  a doubt for Saturday's encounter against  Leicester City.  THE CONCLUSION: IS THIS THE  END OF THE ROAD?  Cavani scored 17 goals in all competitions  during his debut season at Old Trafford,  earning him a new 12-month contract.  Unfortunately, the seasoned striker hasn't  been able to reproduce his success this season , and a summer departure seems a distinct  possibility.  It appears to be a winner.
