 manager, Erik ten Hag may be able to leapfrog

 Arsenal and Chelsea. 


The Dutchman was named the long-

awaited permanent manager of Old Trafford

 this week, following interim manager Ralf

 Rangnick. Ten Hag has been extensively

 linked with the post for months and will

 take over at the end of his current Netherlands 

season with Ajax. 


The 52-year-problem old's in the transfer 

window has been underscored by a 4-0 

thrashing at the hands of rivals Liverpool 

at Anfield on Tuesday – however United 

are apparently aiming to make a statement

 in their pursuit.
